LG Manoj Sinha Chairs UHQ Meeting to Review Security in J&K

Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha will chair a Unified Headquarters (UHQ) meeting today at Raj Bhavan to assess the security landscape in Jammu and Kashmir. The meeting will start at 11 am and bring together top security officials to address pressing matters.

The Unified Headquarters acts as the nerve center for security and intelligence operations in J&K. During this session, Lieutenant Governor Sinha aims to review winter preparedness strategies and discuss the recent escalation of tensions at the Line of Control (LoC) with Pakistan.

Informed sources confirmed that LG Sinha will be briefed by senior officials on the current security situation across the Union Territory, particularly concerning the LoC and international borders. This meeting is crucial as it sets the tone for the security strategy in the approaching winter months.

High-ranking officials scheduled to attend include Army’s Northern Commander Lieutenant General Prateek Sharma, Director General of Police Nalin Prabhat, Chief Secretary Atal Duloo, as well as leaders from various paramilitary forces and intelligence agencies.

The previous UHQ meeting chaired by LG Sinha took place in May, following the success of ‘Operation Sindoor,’ which yielded significant results in counter-terrorism efforts. He had emphasized the need for “precise, intelligence-led operations” to dismantle terrorist activities and their support networks.

The discussions today will play a vital role in formulating effective strategies to ensure safety during the winter season, characterized by heightened threats along the borders.

Sources highlight that this meeting comes at a pivotal moment, given the recent incidents along the border and the ongoing need for vigilant security protocols. The outcomes of the UHQ meeting are expected to directly influence operational tactics and collaboration between various security forces in the region.

As the situation in J&K evolves, the commitment of the Lieutenant Governor and security forces to maintaining peace and stability remains critical. The meeting seeks to not only address immediate security concerns but also lay the groundwork for future operations in a challenging environment.
