Jammu, Sept 30: In a significant move affecting educational institutions, the Directorate of School Education Jammu has rolled out new timings for both government and private schools across the Jammu Division. Starting in October, schools in the Summer Zone will operate from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, transitioning to a revised schedule of 9:30 AM to 3:30 PM in November. This decision aims to accommodate the changing needs of students and families as the winter season approaches.
Moreover, schools situated within the limits of the Jammu Municipal Corporation and adjacent urban areas will adhere to the 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM schedule throughout the year. This distinction ensures that students in urban settings, where temperatures can differ significantly, do not face unnecessary disruptions in their daily routines.
For the Winter Zone, schools will commence operations from 9:30 AM to 3:30 PM starting October 1. The initiative reflects the Directorate’s commitment to creating conducive learning environments tailored to seasonal variations.
The education department emphasized that strict disciplinary measures would follow against any school that fails to comply with this new directive. “We are dedicated to ensuring that the learning experience is uninterrupted and in alignment with the seasonal requirements,” said an official from the Directorate. The enforcement of these timings highlights the department’s proactive approach to managing educational practices in the region.
This change addresses local needs while maintaining uniformity across school timings in Jammu Division. Schools have a critical role in shaping the educational landscape, and these adjustments play a vital part in optimizing the academic calendar.
Parents and students are encouraged to observe these changes and plan accordingly as schools prepare to adapt to these new operational hours. As local officials ensure the efficient implementation of these timings, the Jammu community looks forward to enhanced educational experiences in the forthcoming academic months.
